Service Area

- The main service area consists of Huntersville, Cornelius and Davidson

- The extended service area covers Charlotte, Mooresvile, Statesville, Salisbury, Rock Hill, Gastonia, Mint Hill, Monroe, Matthews, Waxhaw, Concord, Kannapolis and other surrounding areas.

- Travel time and mileage will be assessed for visits in the extended service area and will be agreed upon by the Owner and the Sitter prior to the beginning of services.

Meet and Greets

We require a preliminary meet and greet for all pets, owners, and sitters prior to the beginning of services. This will ensure that the pet is familiar with the sitter when the owner is not at home, but it will also give the owner the opportunity to assess the relationship between the sitter and pet prior to leaving their family member in the care of a stranger. It is important for all involved to feel comfortable with each other for the safety and well-being of everyone.

Cancellation or Termination

- 24-hour notice is requested to cancel a visit. Although we know things can change at the last minute, if we have left for the visit or arrive at the house to find our services are not needed, we will charge $5 for the inconvenience.

- The 25% deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE.

- If any pet becomes aggressive or dangerous, the sitter will either place the pet with a pre-arranged Guardian or board the pet at the owner's expense. If this is the only pet, the contract is considered terminated; the sitter has the option to continue caring for any other pets in the house. If the sitter is unable to get the aggressive or dangerous pet to a guardian or kennel, the owner will be responsible for making new arrangements.

- Any wrongful or misleading information is immediate grounds for termination and will be considered a breach of contract.

- The owner will not be owed a refund if the contract is terminated due to an aggressive animal or misleading information.

Liability

- Paws & Pals Pet Sitting and Dog Walking is fully insured through State Farm.

- We are not liable for security, theft or damage to the owner's property if others have access to the home.

- We are not liable for injury or mishap to a pet or caused by a pet if the pet has unsupervised access to the outdoors.

- The owner is responsible for any injury to the sitter or property damage caused by the pet.

- The sitter shall not be held liable in relation to the transportation of any pets to the vet or emergency clinic.

Emergency Care

- If a pet becomes injured or sick while under the care of the sitter, the sitter will have the owner's written permission to transport the pet to either the pet's primary veterinarian, the sitter's primary veterinarian or an emergency clinic at the owner's expense.

- The decision on which doctor to see will be based solely on who can see the pet first to get appropriate care as soon as possible in the best interest of the pet.
